Ahmedabad is the turning point for almost everything north or east of Gujarat, and the Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway via Dholera side is mostly a straight run. Choosing a truck for a Bhavnagar dispatch
Small and urgent: an Ace / Dost / Pickup carries 750 kg - 1,100 kg, enough for a few spares or a sample lot to Rajkot. Mixed goods and plastic: 14FT Eicher at 3.5 ton or a 17FT at 5 ton. Steel, castings and bagged salt: a 19FT Eicher at 7 ton, or a 32FT container at 16 or 18 ton for full mill dispatches. If the cargo must stay dry, a 20FT container (6.5 ton) is closed on all sides.

What tends to go wrong on Bhavnagar loads
Two things, mostly. The first is weight. A shipper says "around 6 ton" for a lot of plates and the weighbridge reads 8, and now the 19FT Eicher that reported cannot legally take it. Weigh the lot, or give us the invoice weight, before you book. The second is timing at the yards. Ship-breaking plots load when their crane is free, not when the truck arrives, so a truck can wait half a day at Alang. Build that into your delivery promise to the buyer.
Salt traders have a different problem: wet bags in the rains. From June to September, take a closed body even if the trip is only to Ahmedabad.
Paperwork and responsibilities
Goods above Rs.50,000 need an e-way bill, made by the consignor or consignee. Our driver gets a digital Lorry Receipt at loading and the trip is GPS tracked to delivery; a GST invoice follows once the goods are unloaded. Loading and unloading labour, and transit insurance, are on the shipper's side. At Alang, yards normally arrange their own crane and loading crew.
