Chennai to Mundra covers approximately 1,750 km by road, primarily via NH 48 through Bangalore, Pune, and Mumbai, then northwest toward Bhuj and Kutch. Transit time for a loaded FTL truck is 4 to 5 days. Mundra Port, operated by Adani Ports, is one of India's largest private ports and Gujarat's primary container gateway. Most freight moving from Chennai to Mundra is either headed for port-side warehousing and export consolidation, or for industrial supply to Kutch's growing Special Economic Zone. If your shipment is export-linked, confirm cut-off dates at Mundra Port before finalising your loading date in Chennai. Use the freight calculator to get an instant rate estimate by truck type.
The Surat-Vadodara stretch on NH 48 is the primary delay zone on this corridor. High freight density between Mumbai and Ahmedabad regularly adds 3 to 5 hours to transit time. The final leg from Bhuj to Mundra (about 60 km on State Highway 42) is straightforward but heavy vehicles may face queue time at Mundra Port gate during peak vessel loading periods.
Most Chennai-to-Mundra shipments move in a 32ft container truck -- either for bulk industrial goods heading to Mundra's SEZ or for export consolidation at the port. Smaller pharma and FMCG consignments from Chennai's Ambattur and Manali estates use a 14ft Eicher. Check the truck size guide to match your cargo volume and weight to the right vehicle before booking.

All rates are for full truck load. Toll charges across four states are extra and billed on actuals. Payment: 5% at booking, 90% advance at loading, 5% before unloading at Mundra. Booking amount is non-refundable once driver and vehicle details are shared.
Chennai sends automotive components from its OEM supply chain (Ambattur, Irungattukottai, and Sriperumbudur manufacturing clusters) destined for export through Mundra Port. Textile goods from Tirupur-linked distributors in Chennai move to Gujarat-based garment exporters. Pharmaceutical products from Chennai's Manali industrial area ship to Kutch SEZ distributors. Book via the hire truck Chennai page for pickup scheduling in Chennai's main freight zones.
Electronics and electrical equipment manufactured in Tamil Nadu move to Mundra-based warehouses serving western India. Chemical goods from Manali Chemical Estate ship to Gujarat process industries. On the return leg, ceramic tiles from Morbi (Gujarat) and industrial components from Ahmedabad move to Chennai distributors -- return volume on this corridor is steady.
TruckGuru carries FTL intercity goods transport only. We do not carry part loads, household goods, live animals, or fresh produce on this route.
Call +91-7202045678 if your Chennai pickup location is not listed. We cover most industrial and commercial zones across the city and its satellite areas.
For deliveries inside Mundra Port or SEZ, the vehicle needs a valid gate pass issued by the consignee. Arrange port entry documentation with your buyer or warehouse operator before the truck departs Chennai. Our team flags this requirement at booking for all port-side deliveries. See our intercity transport services page for general B2B freight scope and coverage.
1. Go to truckguru.co.in or download the TruckGuru app on Android
2. Enter your Chennai pickup address and Mundra delivery location
3. Select the truck type that fits your cargo weight and volume
4. Confirm the rate shown and pay 5% booking amount
5. Our team calls back within 30 minutes (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM; Sun 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM)
6. Receive driver name, vehicle number, and contact details on confirmation
7. Pay 90% advance at loading; remaining 5% before unloading at Mundra destination
Mundra Port has specific vehicle entry requirements that differ from standard B2B deliveries. Trucks entering the port or SEZ area need pre-cleared gate passes from the consignee. Our team confirms delivery point requirements at booking -- we ask whether the delivery is port-side or SEZ before assigning a vehicle, because the access process differs for each.
TruckGuru is FTL-only. For export-linked cargo from Chennai's automotive belt heading to Mundra, co-loading with other cargo is a compliance risk. A dedicated container truck from Sriperumbudur to Mundra ensures your consignment is the only load on that vehicle from pickup to port delivery.
The e-way bill for this route must cover Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Our team confirms full corridor coverage at booking. The shipper is responsible for generating a valid e-way bill before the truck departs.

How many days does truck transport take from Chennai to Mundra?
FTL trucks on this corridor typically take 4 to 5 days. The Surat-Vadodara stretch on NH 48 regularly adds 3 to 5 hours of delay. If your shipment is port-linked and has a vessel cut-off date at Mundra, plan 5 to 6 days and book your truck at least a week ahead.

Which truck size should I use for a Chennai to Mundra shipment?
For cargo under 1,250 kg, a Tata Ace covers the route. For 1 to 3.5 tonnes, the 14ft Eicher is the standard choice. For bulk automotive or industrial export cargo, a 32ft container (16T or 18T) gives the best per-tonne economics over 1,750 km. The truck size guide has full capacity and dimension details.
Do I need a gate pass for delivery inside Mundra Port or SEZ?
Yes. Vehicles entering Mundra Port or the Mundra SEZ need a gate pass arranged by the consignee or warehouse operator at the destination. This is separate from the freight booking. Our team confirms the delivery point type (port, SEZ, or township) at booking so the driver has the right documentation expectations before departure.
How many state borders does the e-way bill need to cover?
Four states: Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. The e-way bill must be valid for the full corridor. Our team confirms coverage at booking. The shipper generates the e-way bill before the truck leaves Chennai.
Does TruckGuru offer part load or LTL service from Chennai to Mundra?
No. TruckGuru is a full truck load (FTL) transport service only. We do not arrange shared trucks, groupage, or LTL bookings on this or any other route.

“We ship auto components from our Pune plant to distributors in eight states. Earlier every dispatch meant three or four calls to brokers just to get a rate. Now we check the fare online, confirm the truck, and track it on GPS till delivery. Our team saves close to two hours on every booking.”
“Our textile unit in Surat moves fifteen to twenty truckloads a month to retailers across South India. TruckGuru gave us one dashboard to book, one number to call, and the GST invoice reaches us the same day. Rates are competitive with no surprise charges at delivery, and that consistency matters when you ship every week.”
“We run a packaging materials unit in Ahmedabad and dispatch to factories across Maharashtra and Rajasthan. What sold us on TruckGuru was the rate transparency. The price we saw online was the price we paid, with no broker markup and nothing added at the weighbridge. Fourteen months in and we have not had a single billing dispute.”
“I handle procurement for a pharma distributor in Hyderabad and our cargo needs careful handling. TruckGuru gives us a coordinator who checks that every truck is clean and covered before loading. The digital LR and POD reach my inbox before the driver leaves the drop point, which saves us a lot during audits.”

FTL means the entire truck carries only your goods. It picks up from your location and goes directly to the destination, no stops to consolidate other shipments, no detours. This is the right choice when you have enough volume to fill, or mostly fill, a truck, or when transit time matters.
Yes. Every truck on our platform carries GPS. Once your shipment moves, you can see its exact location from the app, no need to call the driver every few hours. You can also share the tracking link with your buyer or warehouse team so they know when to expect the delivery and can plan unloading accordingly.
Yes. Select your dispatch date when placing the booking and we will arrange the truck for that day. Advance booking helps during peak seasons, October through December, when festival demand and year-end dispatches tighten truck availability.
Yes. If you need to collect goods from more than one location or deliver to multiple destinations in a single trip, mention the stops when placing your booking. Our team will plan the route and confirm the fare covering all points before dispatch.
You can cancel before vehicle and driver details are shared, no charge applies. Once we assign a truck and share the details, the booking amount is non-refundable because the driver has already committed time and fuel.
Our truck fare covers transportation only. Loading, unloading, and packing are arranged separately at your end. If you need help finding labour at a specific location, reach out to our team, we can usually connect you with someone in the area who handles it regularly.
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading, Balance due before unloading begins. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments are accepted.
Yes. Toll charges are included in the quoted freight rate on all intercity routes. You will not receive a separate toll bill after delivery. The rate confirmed at booking covers the full point-to-point movement.
We transport commercial and industrial goods including machinery, raw materials, FMCG products, textiles, auto parts, building materials, electronics, and agricultural produce. We do not transport household belongings for relocation, hazardous materials requiring special permits, or any restricted goods under Indian transport regulations.
A GST-compliant invoice is generated and sent to your registered email once the consignment is delivered. The Lorry Receipt (LR) is shared at the time of dispatch. Proof of Delivery (POD) is sent digitally after unloading is complete. If your accounts team needs a specific format or a consolidated monthly statement for multiple shipments, write to cs@truckguru.co.in.
The first 2 hours after the truck arrives at your location are free. After that, waiting charges range from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000 per day depending on the vehicle type. Keep your goods and paperwork, including GST invoice, e-Way Bill, and packing list, ready before the truck arrives to avoid delays.
GST on goods transport applies under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) at 5%. This means the shipper is responsible for filing and paying the GST on the transport service, not TruckGuru. Our invoices are GST-compliant and include all the details your accounts team needs for filing.
The consignor or consignee must generate Part A and Part B of the e-Way Bill before goods move. This is mandatory under GST rules for consignments valued above Rs.50,000. TruckGuru does not generate the e-Way Bill on your behalf, but our team can guide you through the process if needed.
Report any damage at the time of delivery to our team at +91-7202045678 with photographs taken before unloading. We investigate each claim on a case-by-case basis. We strongly recommend that shippers arrange their own transit insurance for high-value consignments, as TruckGuru's liability is limited to the terms agreed at the time of booking.
No. TruckGuru provides full truckload (FTL) intercity goods transport only. We do not handle parcels, courier shipments, bike transport, car transport, household shifting, or within-city local deliveries. If you need these services, we recommend contacting a specialist provider in your city.
Call +91-7202045678 or email cs@truckguru.co.in. Our customer support team is available Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and Sunday 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. For booking queries, you can also use the website or the TruckGuru app on the Play Store. TruckGuru does not share your contact details with any outside agencies.
Start with the weight and dimensions of your goods, not the truck size. A 2-ton textile shipment from Surat to Mumbai fits comfortably in an Eicher 14FT (3.5T capacity, Rs.31-35/km). Picking the wrong truck size is the most common reason shippers overpay on freight.
Get your rate confirmed before the truck is dispatched. On TruckGuru, the price you see at booking is the price you pay. The split is simple: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading, Balance due before unloading. If a platform or broker revises the rate at the loading dock, that is a red flag.
Check whether the transporter provides live GPS tracking and digital documentation including LR, invoice, and POD. Chasing a driver by phone for location updates wastes hours every trip. On busy corridors like Ahmedabad-Mumbai or Delhi-Jaipur, a single delayed update can throw off your warehouse unloading schedule.
Book 2-3 days ahead when possible. Same-day availability is common on most routes, but during October-December peak season, trucks on high-demand corridors fill up fast. Advance booking also gives you better vehicle options for goods that need closed-body or containerised transport.
Enter your pickup city, drop city, and select the truck type on truckguru.co.in or the TruckGuru app. You will see the freight rate before confirming. Our team arranges the truck and shares driver details once the booking is confirmed.
Tata Ace (up to 1,100 kg), Bada Dost / Mahindra Pickup (up to 1.5 ton), Eicher 14FT (3.5 ton), Eicher 17FT (5 ton), Eicher 19FT (7 ton), 20FT Container (6.5 ton), and 32FT Container (7 to 18 ton variants) are available for intercity FTL transport.
Yes. Toll charges are included in the quoted fare on all intercity routes. No separate toll bill is raised after delivery.
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at confirmation, 90% advance at loading, and Balance Due at delivery before unloading. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI, and major debit and credit cards.
