Hire a Truck in Gorakhpur -- Intercity FTL Booking
Gorakhpur anchors eastern Uttar Pradesh's Purvanchal region, close to the Nepal border, and functions as the area's primary trading hub. The city's grain market is one of the largest foodgrain trading centres in eastern UP -- wheat, rice, and pulses move through Gorakhpur's mandis before distribution further afield. Gorakhpur is also known for its terracotta craft, a GI-tagged tradition producing decorative and utility items that ship to retailers nationally. Sugar mills across the surrounding Purvanchal belt add to the region's freight volume.
TruckGuru books intercity FTL trucks from Gorakhpur -- one truck, one consignment, one confirmed rate for routes above 100 km. Not local-versus-outstation rental, not household furniture moving, not multi-stop delivery runs. The truck and driver come to your pickup address.

What Ships from Gorakhpur
Foodgrain and agricultural produce
Gorakhpur's grain market is a major foodgrain trading point for eastern UP. Wheat, rice, and pulses consolidated here move to wholesale buyers in Lucknow, Patna, and Delhi. Volume peaks after the rabi and kharif harvests, when truck demand in the region rises sharply -- booking a few days ahead during peak harvest weeks avoids last-minute availability gaps.
Terracotta craft goods
Gorakhpur's terracotta tradition is GI-tagged, producing decorative items, toys, and utility ware from the city's artisan clusters. These goods are lightweight relative to volume and typically move in smaller truck categories to retailers and exporters in Delhi and Lucknow.
Sugar and FMCG
Sugar mills across the Purvanchal belt surrounding Gorakhpur generate consistent outbound freight to UP and Bihar distributors. FMCG goods consolidated in Gorakhpur's commercial belt supply the wider eastern UP and border-trade market with Nepal. Gorakhpur's position close to the Indo-Nepal border also makes it a consolidation point for goods destined for onward movement toward the border towns, though TruckGuru's booking covers the domestic Indian leg only.
For grain or sugar cargo needing enclosed protection, see container truck transport.
Pickup Areas in Gorakhpur
- Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) -- the city's primary industrial estate
- Mohaddipur and Bank Road -- commercial and trading zones near the city centre
- Taramandal -- commercial belt with wholesale and distribution units
- Gorakhpur grain market (Mandi) -- foodgrain trading and consolidation point
Compliance on Gorakhpur Corridors
Most routes from Gorakhpur cross at least one state border -- to Bihar (Patna), or further to Delhi-NCR. An e-way bill is mandatory for consignments above Rs. 50,000 on any interstate movement. TruckGuru confirms driver name, vehicle number, and transporter ID before dispatch so documentation can be prepared accurately before the truck leaves Gorakhpur.
How Booking Works
Enter your Gorakhpur pickup address, delivery city, and cargo weight on TruckGuru.co.in or the app. Select the truck size based on verified weight -- not visual stack height, particularly for grain sacks which compress less neatly than they appear. Confirmed rate appears before you commit -- that number is the number on the invoice. Driver name, vehicle number, and transporter ID confirmed before dispatch.
Book via online truck booking. Track via the TruckGuru mobile app.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is TruckGuru?
TruckGuru LLP is a full truckload (FTL) intercity truck booking platform with offices in Vadodara and Bangalore, covering 110+ cities across India. We show you the freight cost before you book, match the right truck to your cargo, and handle the booking from pickup to delivery.
How do I book a truck?
Three ways: book online at truckguru.co.in, use the TruckGuru app, or call 72020 45678. Enter your pickup and drop city, select the truck type, and check the estimated fare. Once you confirm, pay the token amount and our team places the vehicle at your pickup location.
How can I check the freight cost for my route?
Use the freight calculator on our website -- enter the pickup city, drop city, and truck type. You will see an estimated fare instantly. No login needed, no obligation. The final rate is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact locations, material weight, and goods type.
What truck types are available?
Tata Ace (1,250 kg), Bada Dost and Mahindra Pickup (up to 1.5 ton), Eicher 14ft (3.5 ton), 17ft (5 ton), 19ft (7 ton), 20ft Container (6.5 ton), and 32ft Container in SXL (7-8 ton), MXL (16 ton), and MXL (18 ton) variants. Not sure which fits your load? Call us and our team will recommend the right vehicle based on weight and volume.
What are the payment terms?
A token amount at booking confirmation, 90% of the fare at the time of loading, and the remaining balance at the destination before unloading. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), and all major debit and credit cards.
Is the online estimate the final fare?
No. The website shows an estimated cost based on standard distance. The final fare is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact pickup and drop location, material weight, and goods type. On most routes the final rate stays close to the estimate, but it can vary for off-highway locations or routes requiring detours.
What are the waiting charges?
If the truck reaches your location and loading is delayed, waiting charges range from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000 per day depending on the vehicle type. If the vehicle is not loaded and returns empty, the customer must pay driver fuel charges plus the waiting charge.
What are the GST charges on freight?
GST on goods transport is payable under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) at 5%. The shipper is responsible for filing and paying the GST, not TruckGuru. Our invoices are GST-compliant and sent to your registered email after delivery.
Who generates the e-Way Bill?
The consignor or consignee must generate Part A and Part B of the e-Way Bill before the goods move. This is mandatory for consignments valued above Rs.50,000. TruckGuru does not generate the e-Way Bill on your behalf.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Call 72020 45678 to request cancellation. Once vehicle or driver details have been shared, the booking amount is non-refundable. If the truck has already been dispatched, no refund is issued and fuel charges apply. Approved cancellations are refunded (minus cancellation fee) within 7 working days.
Do you provide loading, unloading, or packing?
Our service covers transportation only. If you need labour for loading or unloading, we can help arrange it at extra cost, but we do not guarantee third-party labour services. The quoted freight rate does not include labour charges.
Do you handle parcels, courier, or car transport?
No. TruckGuru provides full truckload (FTL) intercity goods transport only. We do not handle parcels, courier, bike transport, car transport, household shifting, or within-city local deliveries.
Tips for Booking a Truck
Start with the weight and type of goods you need to move, not the truck size. A 2-ton consignment fits an Eicher 14FT (3.5T capacity), while anything above 7 tons usually needs a 32FT container. Picking the right vehicle upfront saves you from paying for space you do not use.
Always get a confirmed rate before the truck is dispatched. On TruckGuru, the price shown at booking is the price you pay. The payment split is 5% at booking, 90% at loading, and 5% before unloading. If any platform or broker tries to revise the rate at the loading dock, treat that as a red flag.
Check that the transporter provides live GPS tracking and digital documentation including LR, invoice, and POD. Calling the driver every few hours for location updates wastes time, especially on high-volume corridors where even a small delay can throw off your warehouse unloading schedule.
Book 2 to 3 days ahead when possible. Same-day availability is common on most routes, but during October to December peak season, trucks on busy corridors fill up fast. Advance booking also gives you better vehicle options for goods that need closed-body or containerised transport.
