Book Tata AceWhen a whole vehicle beats a courier
Traders and small manufacturers in Vaibhav usually reach us after trying the other option first. A courier or a parcel service takes 600 kg of cartons, splits them across two or three hubs, and delivers them over four days with a box or two dented. For a load that size going to one receiver in another city, booking a mini truck on rent in Vaibhav is often simpler: one Tata Ace (also called Chota Hathi), one driver, loaded at your door and unloaded at theirs, with nothing else on board.
TruckGuru books these for intercity trips of 100 km or more. We do not do local drops.

Cargo that suits a Chota Hathi (mini truck)
In practice most of it is trade stock. Cartons of FMCG and packed food for a distributor. Tiles, sanitaryware and fittings for a dealer's counter. Electrical goods and small appliances. Spare parts, printed material, packaging. What they have in common is weight under a tonne and one address at the other end.
The Ace carries 750 kg - 1,100 kg, and its deck is short, around 7 feet. Long pipes or panels do not belong on it.
Three things to sort before the vehicle arrives
Labour
Loading and unloading labour is arranged by you, at both ends. Line up two people for the loading slot; a driver waiting an hour for hands is the most common delay we see on small trips.
Papers
An invoice or delivery challan travels with the goods. When the value is above 50,000 rupees, the consignor or consignee generates the e-way bill before the vehicle leaves. We give you a digital Lorry Receipt at loading.
Access
Tell us about narrow lanes, society gates or market timing restrictions. A small vehicle gets into most places, but a guard who has not been told can still hold it at the gate.
How the Chota Hathi (mini truck) is priced
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Around festival stocking season, when every distributor wants goods at once, small vehicles get booked out days ahead, so plan early in October.

After you book
Use the website or the TruckGuru app. We call within 30 minutes in working hours (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM) to fix the vehicle and pickup time. I have 12 cartons, about 150 kg. Should I book a mini truck?
Probably not. At that weight a courier is usually better value. A dedicated vehicle makes sense from about 300 kg, or when the goods must arrive on a fixed day.
What is the maximum weight?
750 kg - 1,100 kg for the standard Ace, up to 1.5 ton for a closed-body Bada Dost.
Do you do local deliveries in the same city?
No. We only book intercity trips over 100 km.
Can you add my 200 kg to another customer's vehicle?
No. We book one vehicle per consignment and do not run part load.
Does the driver load the goods?
No. You arrange loading and unloading labour. The driver ties and covers the load.
Is transit insurance part of the fare?
No. Transit insurance is arranged by the customer if you want cover.
When do I need an e-way bill?
For goods worth more than 50,000 rupees. The consignor or consignee generates it.
How soon after booking will someone call?
Within 30 minutes during working hours. Bookings made late at night get a call the next morning.
Can I book for a family move to another city?
Our trucks mostly carry business loads. For a one-off household move to another city, we can supply the truck and driver. Packing, loading and unloading are arranged by you.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Can my receiver track the vehicle?
The vehicle is GPS tracked from dispatch to delivery. You can see it on the app and share the status with your receiver.
