Chota Hathi on Rent in Bangalore -- Tata Ace Intercity FTL Booking
"Chota Hathi" is the market name for the Tata Ace -- India's most commonly booked mini truck. In Bangalore, the Tata Ace handles intercity consignments up to 1,250 kg: IT hardware samples from Electronic City, auto component batches from Peenya, pharma samples from Bommasandra, and spare parts from Whitefield.
TruckGuru books Tata Ace trucks from Bangalore for intercity routes above 100 km. This is not a self-drive rental, not a local Bangalore delivery service, and not a household shifting option. Driver always included. Rate confirmed before dispatch.

Tata Ace (Chota Hathi) Specifications

- Maximum load: 1,250 kg (up to 1.25T). Hard limit, not an estimate.
- Rate: Rs. 26-29 per km. No base fare for intercity routes above 100 km.
- Driver: Always included. Not an add-on, not optional.
- Body type: Covered deck. Standard commercial body for packaged goods, samples, and light industrial cargo.
- Tracking: GPS tracking throughout via TruckGuru app.
When to use the Bada Dost instead
If your consignment weighs above 1,250 kg up to 1.5T, the Bada Dost carries it at the same per-km rate (Rs. 26-29/km). Squeezing a 1,300 kg load into a Tata Ace creates a checkpost compliance issue -- the Bada Dost avoids that at no extra cost per km.

What Moves by Tata Ace from Bangalore
The 1,250 kg limit fits IT hardware samples and small device consignments from Electronic City, auto component samples from Peenya Industrial Area, pharma test batches from Bommasandra's biotech cluster, and small FMCG batches from Yeshwanthpur's commercial belt. Spare parts for machinery and equipment -- bearings, fittings, sensor modules -- are another common Tata Ace category on Bangalore corridors.
Bangalore's tech and manufacturing density means the Tata Ace runs frequently on short corridors (Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysore) where small, high-value consignments need to move the same day.

- Peenya Industrial Area -- auto components, engineering goods
- Bommasandra -- biotech, pharma, precision engineering

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Chota Hathi available for local delivery within Bangalore?
No. TruckGuru books intercity FTL for routes above 100 km only. Local Bangalore delivery and within-city transport are not offered here.
What is the load capacity of Tata Ace (Chota Hathi)?
1,250 kg (up to 1.25T) on TruckGuru's platform. If your consignment exceeds this, book the Bada Dost (up to 1.5T) at the same per-km rate. For loads above 1.5T, the 14ft Eicher (3.5T) is the next category.
What is the Chota Hathi rate from Bangalore?
Rs. 26-29 per km. No base fare is added for intercity routes above 100 km. A Bangalore to Chennai run (~345 km) costs approximately Rs. 9,000-10,000. Toll charges are separate and paid during transit.
How much does a mini truck cost per km in Bangalore?
For TruckGuru's Tata Ace and Bada Dost categories: Rs. 26-29 per km on intercity routes. This is different from local Porter-style pricing, which follows a different slab for intracity, on-demand movements.
Is Chota Hathi cheaper than Porter for intercity freight?
Porter and similar apps price for intracity, on-demand small loads within a city. TruckGuru's Tata Ace is structured for confirmed intercity FTL trips above 100 km with a fixed per-km rate, a dedicated truck, and GPS tracking. The two are not directly comparable -- they serve different distance categories and delivery models.
Does Chota Hathi have AC?
Standard Tata Ace cabins used for commercial freight are non-AC. The Tata Ace is a load carrier, not a passenger vehicle. Air-conditioned cabin searches typically refer to tempo travellers or light commercial passenger vehicles.
What is the mileage of Tata Ace Chota Hathi?
The Tata Ace Gold diesel delivers approximately 20-22 km/l on highways. This is relevant for fleet operators calculating fuel costs -- TruckGuru's per-km rate already accounts for fuel on the route.
Is there a Tata Ace EV (electric Chota Hathi)?
Yes, Tata offers an Ace EV with up to 155 km range per charge. TruckGuru's standard intercity fleet runs on diesel Tata Ace units built for 100+ km corridors where highway charging infrastructure is not yet consistent.
When should I book a Bada Dost instead of a Tata Ace?
Book the Bada Dost when your consignment weighs above 1,250 kg and up to 1.5T. The per-km rate is identical (Rs. 26-29/km) -- so there is no cost penalty for stepping up. Overloading a Tata Ace creates a checkpost compliance issue mid-route.
Which mini truck is best for intercity freight from Bangalore?
For consignments up to 1,250 kg moving 100+ km from Peenya, Electronic City, or Bommasandra -- the Tata Ace. For 1,250 kg to 1.5T -- Bada Dost at the same rate. For 1.5T to 3.5T -- 14ft Eicher.
Can I rent a Chota Hathi for long-term or monthly hire in Bangalore?
No. TruckGuru does not offer long-term rentals or monthly hire. Each booking covers one intercity trip from your Bangalore pickup address to your delivery destination.
Does TruckGuru offer Chota Hathi for household shifting in Bangalore?
No. TruckGuru transports commercial goods only. Household furniture, personal belongings, and home relocation are not services offered on this platform.
Is cargo insurance included?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is TruckGuru?
TruckGuru LLP is a full truckload (FTL) intercity truck booking platform with offices in Vadodara and Bangalore, covering 110+ cities across India. We show you the freight cost before you book, match the right truck to your cargo, and handle the booking from pickup to delivery.
How do I book a truck?
Three ways: book online at truckguru.co.in, use the TruckGuru app, or call 72020 45678. Enter your pickup and drop city, select the truck type, and check the estimated fare. Once you confirm, pay the token amount and our team places the vehicle at your pickup location.
How can I check the freight cost for my route?
Use the freight calculator on our website -- enter the pickup city, drop city, and truck type. You will see an estimated fare instantly. No login needed, no obligation. The final rate is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact locations, material weight, and goods type.
What truck types are available?
Tata Ace (1,250 kg), Bada Dost and Mahindra Pickup (up to 1.5 ton), Eicher 14ft (3.5 ton), 17ft (5 ton), 19ft (7 ton), 20ft Container (6.5 ton), and 32ft Container in SXL (7-8 ton), MXL (16 ton), and MXL (18 ton) variants. Not sure which fits your load? Call us and our team will recommend the right vehicle based on weight and volume.
What are the payment terms?
A token amount at booking confirmation, 90% of the fare at the time of loading, and the remaining balance at the destination before unloading. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), and all major debit and credit cards.
Is the online estimate the final fare?
No. The website shows an estimated cost based on standard distance. The final fare is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact pickup and drop location, material weight, and goods type. On most routes the final rate stays close to the estimate, but it can vary for off-highway locations or routes requiring detours.
What are the waiting charges?
If the truck reaches your location and loading is delayed, waiting charges range from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000 per day depending on the vehicle type. If the vehicle is not loaded and returns empty, the customer must pay driver fuel charges plus the waiting charge.
What are the GST charges on freight?
GST on goods transport is payable under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) at 5%. The shipper is responsible for filing and paying the GST, not TruckGuru. Our invoices are GST-compliant and sent to your registered email after delivery.
Who generates the e-Way Bill?
The consignor or consignee must generate Part A and Part B of the e-Way Bill before the goods move. This is mandatory for consignments valued above Rs.50,000. TruckGuru does not generate the e-Way Bill on your behalf.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Call 72020 45678 to request cancellation. Once vehicle or driver details have been shared, the booking amount is non-refundable. If the truck has already been dispatched, no refund is issued and fuel charges apply. Approved cancellations are refunded (minus cancellation fee) within 7 working days.
Do you provide loading, unloading, or packing?
Our service covers transportation only. If you need labour for loading or unloading, we can help arrange it at extra cost, but we do not guarantee third-party labour services. The quoted freight rate does not include labour charges.
Do you handle parcels, courier, or car transport?
No. TruckGuru provides full truckload (FTL) intercity goods transport only. We do not handle parcels, courier, bike transport, car transport, household shifting, or within-city local deliveries.
