Most Mumbai freight does not start in Mumbai

Heavy trucks are kept out of most of the island city in the day, so the loads that leave Mumbai are packed on its edges. Bhiwandi's godowns hold the FMCG, appliances and e-commerce stock for half of western India. Taloja, Turbhe and Rabale in Navi Mumbai run chemical, pharma and engineering units. Andheri MIDC and Vasai send electronics and light manufacturing, and the CFS yards around Nhava Sheva hand over imported cargo for the trip inland. Where Mumbai loads go, and how long they take

Road times leave out loading and the wait at the receiver's gate. From June to September the monsoon slows the ghat sections on the Pune and Nashik roads, and waterlogging around Bhiwandi and Kalyan can hold a truck for hours. Add a day to anything time-bound in those months.

Transport rates from Mumbai

Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Trucks for Pune, Surat and Ahmedabad are easy to find most weeks; Chennai and the east take longer to line up, and every lane tightens from October to December.

Most Mumbai trucks load in the afternoon or evening and leave at night, when city restrictions ease. Share the exact godown or gate number at booking; in Bhiwandi, many complexes have one narrow entry and trucks queue.

Booking, payment and paperwork

Enter the pickup, destination, cargo and weight on truckguru.co.in or the TruckGuru app, choose the truck and pay the Booking Amount. Once you book, our team calls back within 30 minutes (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM) with the driver's name, vehicle number and phone number.

Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.

Each trip carries GPS tracking, a digital Lorry Receipt at loading and a GST invoice after delivery. The e-way bill is yours to generate for consignments above Rs.50,000. Loading labour and transit insurance are arranged at your end.

What does a 14ft truck from Mumbai to Pune cost?

A 14FT Eicher from Mumbai to Pune, about 150 km, is indicatively Rs.4,700 - Rs.5,300 for the trip, toll included (checked September 2026). Rates are not fixed; confirm the current rate at booking.

Can my goods from Mumbai go with another shipper's load?

No. Every booking is a full truck for one consignment. For small loads, the smallest truck is a Tata Ace / Dost / Pickup, up to 1,100 kg.

Can the truck pick up from Bhiwandi?

Yes. Bhiwandi is one of our busiest pickup areas. Share the complex name and gate number so the driver reaches the right godown.

Can you load imported cargo at Nhava Sheva?

Yes, once it is cleared and ready at the CFS. We load it into our truck and carry it inland. We do not move the shipping container itself.

Is toll included?

Yes. Toll is included in the trip fare, including the expressway. There is no separate toll bill.

How far ahead should I book for Delhi or Chennai?

Two to three days. For October to December, book 3-4 days ahead, as festive stock ties up trucks on every lane out of Mumbai.

What are the payment terms?

Can I track the truck?

Yes. GPS tracking runs from dispatch to delivery, and the driver's phone number reaches you before the truck leaves.
