Book Tata AceKerala makes very little of what it consumes. Medicines, electrical goods, building material and packaged food all come in from other states, and Kochi is where most of it lands before being split for the rest of Kerala. Hyderabad supplies a large share of the pharma and electricals in that flow.
The run is about 1,100 km. Trucks go south on NH-44 through Kurnool and Anantapur to Bangalore, then take NH-544 through Salem and Coimbatore, and cross into Kerala at Walayar. Plan for 2 to 3 days.

Who ships from Hyderabad to Kochi
Pharma companies are the biggest group. Units in Jeedimetla, Pashamylaram, Bollaram and Genome Valley send finished formulations and packaging material to C&F agents and distributors around Kochi. These loads need a closed body and clean floors, and many shippers ask for a container truck for that reason.
Electrical goods, switchgear and cables from Cherlapally and Nacharam are the second group. Seeds and agri inputs from the Medchal side also move south before the Kerala planting season.
At the Kochi end, most loads go to warehouses in Kalamassery, Edayar, Aluva and the Vyttila-Maradu belt. From there, distributors reach Thrissur, Kottayam and Alappuzha the same week.
The Walayar check post
The Tamil Nadu-Kerala border at Walayar is where trucks lose the most time on this route. Kerala checks e-way bills and invoices closely, and a mismatch in the consignee GSTIN or vehicle number holds the truck until it is fixed. Check the e-way bill once more before the truck leaves Hyderabad. It saves hours.
Pharma loads sometimes need a drug licence copy with the invoice. Keep it in the document folder the driver carries.
Timing and season
Most trucks leave Hyderabad in the evening, cross Bangalore early the next morning and reach Kochi on the third day. From June to August, the southwest monsoon slows the Palakkad gap and the Thrissur stretch. Add half a day to your delivery promise in those months.
Onam, in August or September, brings a rush of FMCG and consumer goods into Kerala. Trucks on this route get booked early in the two weeks before it.
Choosing the truck
Pharma cartons are light for their size. A 14ft truck fills up by volume long before it reaches 3.5 ton, so shippers with more than about 250 cartons usually move up to a 20ft body. Electrical cable drums are the opposite: heavy and compact, and a 20ft truck can hit its weight limit with space still left on the floor.

Payment
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.

Yes. A 20ft truck with 6.5 ton load capacity fits 5 ton comfortably. Fare for this route is Rs.49,100 to Rs.53,500.
