Through the Siliguri corridor
The truck usually runs east on NH27, the East-West Corridor. It crosses Uttar Pradesh by way of Lucknow and Gorakhpur, then north Bihar through Muzaffarpur and Purnia, and enters West Bengal near Kishanganj. At Siliguri the road squeezes through the narrow strip of land that links the Northeast to the rest of India, and from there it continues into Assam past Bongaigaon to Guwahati.
Everything bound for the region goes through that one strip, so traffic around Siliguri can be heavy and slow. It is normal for a truck to lose a few hours there.
Monsoon is the real risk
From June to September, rivers in north Bihar and Assam flood, and parts of the highway sometimes go under water or get diverted. Trucks still run, but transit can stretch beyond 3-4 days for reasons nobody controls. If you are shipping stock for a festival or a project deadline in that period, send it a week early. That is our honest advice after watching this lane every year.
Pack cartons for rain even inside a closed container. Humidity in Assam is high, and paper-wrapped goods suffer.
Onward delivery beyond Guwahati
If the final consignee is in Shillong, Agartala or another hill town, say so at booking. Hill roads limit the truck size, and a 32FT container that is fine to Guwahati may not suit the last leg. It is often simpler to book Delhi to Guwahati in a large truck and the onward part as a separate trip in a smaller vehicle.

Who unloads the goods in Guwahati?
The consignee arranges unloading labour. We supply the truck and driver. Loading labour in Delhi is also arranged by you.
What are your payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Do you insure the goods?
No, transit insurance is arranged by the customer. On a 3-4 days trip through flood-prone areas, it is worth taking.
Can I book half a truck?
No. We do full truck loads only, one consignment per truck. For a smaller load, ask about a 14FT Eicher.
