Delhi to Chennai Transport Service
Distance: ~2,180 km via NH-44
Transit: 28-32 hours non-stop, 34-38 hours door-to-door
Service: FTL intercity only -- no part load, parcel, or local transport
Delhi to Chennai is approximately 2,180 km via NH-44 -- one of India's longest active freight corridors, running south through Agra, Nagpur, Hyderabad, and Kurnool before reaching Chennai. The route crosses six states: Delhi/NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. At 28-32 hours non-stop, this is a two-driver or relay corridor for most operators -- driver rest requirements on runs above 10 hours mean the door-to-door time of 34-38 hours includes at least two mandatory rest stops.
The cargo profile reflects the industrial relationship between North and South India. Manesar and Gurgaon's auto ancillary belt dispatches components south to Chennai's Sriperumbudur corridor -- Hyundai, Ford, and Renault-Nissan all source from North Indian suppliers. Delhi's Okhla and Gandhi Nagar garment clusters send finished apparel to Chennai's retail and export network. The return direction brings auto assemblies, electronics, and agri products north from Tamil Nadu.
TruckGuru books verified FTL trucks directly with operators on this route. Book 3-5 days ahead on this long corridor for best truck availability and stable rates. Check your Delhi to Chennai transport charges: freight calculator. Call 72020 45678.

All Delhi to Chennai bookings are FTL -- your goods travel alone from Delhi to Chennai on a dedicated truck. No co-loading, no part load, no parcel services.
What Gets Transported on This Route
Auto components are the most consistent high-value freight on this corridor. Manesar and Gurgaon's tier-2 supplier network for Maruti Suzuki, Honda, and Hero MotoCorp dispatches pressed metal parts, electrical harnesses, and engine components south to Sriperumbudur's Hyundai, Ford, and Renault-Nissan assembly plants. These are often time-critical consignments -- a delayed component batch affects the receiving plant's production schedule. The 28-32 hour transit on this corridor is manageable for most weekly supplier dispatch cycles.
Garments and textiles from Delhi's Okhla industrial estate and Gandhi Nagar wholesale market are the other major outbound category. Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata receive regular apparel dispatches from Delhi's fashion manufacturing cluster. For Chennai specifically, the retail and export network in Koyambedu and Royapettah receives significant garment volumes from Delhi.
Other regular Delhi to Chennai freight:
- Pharmaceuticals and chemicals from Delhi's distribution hubs and Haryana's pharma belt to Chennai's hospital supply chains and medical device companies
- Electronics and IT hardware for Chennai's technology parks in Perungudi and OMR, and commercial establishments across the city
- Steel, pipes, and construction materials for infrastructure projects across Tamil Nadu
- FMCG and packaged consumer goods for Chennai's wholesale and retail distribution network
Commercial and industrial goods only. Vehicles, bikes, cars, and household goods are not transported on this route.
Documentation for a 6-State Run
Delhi to Chennai crosses more state borders than any other standard TruckGuru corridor. A valid e-way bill is mandatory at each state checkpost for consignments above Rs. 50,000. Generate before loading at Delhi -- not after the truck is dispatched. Every TruckGuru Delhi to Chennai booking generates:
- LR (Lorry Receipt) -- generated at Delhi dispatch, travels with goods through all six states
- E-way bill support -- TruckGuru provides support; shipper is responsible for generation before loading
- Digital GST invoice -- generated after Chennai delivery with full tax breakup for input credit claims
- Delivery receipt -- issued after Chennai drop-off, closes the consignment record

Why Businesses Use TruckGuru for Delhi to Chennai
On a 2,180 km corridor crossing six states, the risks that come with broker-sourced transport are magnified. A truck with a lapsed fitness certificate can be held at any of the six state checkposts. A verbal rate quoted in Delhi has no enforcement mechanism when the truck reaches Chennai 34-38 hours later. A documentation gap at the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border can add hours to a run that is already near the 30-hour mark.
TruckGuru verifies RC, fitness certificate, and driver records before listing. The confirmed Delhi to Chennai transport rate at booking is the rate billed at Chennai delivery -- no addition after dispatch. The e-way bill support is built into the booking process, prompting generation before loading rather than discovering the requirement at the Delhi gate.
GPS tracking runs live from Delhi dispatch through Agra, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Kurnool, and into Chennai via the TruckGuru mobile app. For a 30-plus hour run, your Chennai team can check the truck's position without calling the driver through Andhra Pradesh and plan dock availability for an early morning arrival. On a long corridor like Delhi-Chennai, that operational visibility reduces the uncertainty that broker-sourced transport cannot address.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is TruckGuru?
TruckGuru LLP is a full truckload (FTL) intercity truck booking platform with offices in Vadodara, Gujarat and Bangalore, Karnataka. We work directly with businesses across India -- no brokers, no middlemen. If you need to move commercial goods from one city to another, we match the right truck to your load and show you the freight cost before you book.
What services does TruckGuru offer?
We do one thing: full truckload intercity goods transport. Here is what that includes:
- Online truck booking -- website, app, or phone
- Upfront freight rate estimation via our fare calculator
- Vehicle matching based on load weight and volume
- Shipment status updates from dispatch to delivery
- Digital documentation -- invoice, LR, and POD to your email
We do not handle part loads, parcels, courier, household shifting, automobile transport, or warehousing.
How do I book a truck through TruckGuru?
Three ways:
- Website -- go to truckguru.co.in, enter your pickup and drop city, select the truck type, and check the estimated fare.
- App -- download the TruckGuru app from Play Store, register, and follow the same steps.
- Phone -- call 72020 45678 and our executive will take your details over the call.
Once you confirm, pay the token amount via UPI, NEFT, or IMPS. Our team verifies your details and places the vehicle at your pickup location.
How can I check the freight cost for my route?
Use the freight calculator on our website -- enter the pickup city, drop city, and truck type. You will see an estimated fare instantly. No login needed, no obligation to book. The final rate is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact locations, material weight, and goods type. On most routes, the final fare stays close to the online estimate.
Is the online estimate the final fare?
No. The website and app show an estimated cost based on standard distance calculations. The final fare is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact pickup and drop location, material weight, and goods type. The fare can vary for off-highway locations or routes that require detours. Nothing is charged without your confirmation first.
What truck types are available on TruckGuru?
We cover the full range of commercial vehicles for FTL intercity transport:
- Tata Ace (1,250 kg) -- for smaller commercial loads
- Bada Dost / Mahindra Pickup -- up to 1.5 ton
- Eicher 14ft (3.5 ton) -- closed body for weather-sensitive goods
- Eicher 17ft (5 ton) and 19ft (7 ton)
- 20ft Container (6.5 ton)
- 32ft Container -- SXL (7-8 ton), MXL (16 ton), and MXL (18 ton)
Not sure which fits your load? Share the weight and volume with our team and they will recommend the right vehicle.
What is Full Truckload (FTL) service?
FTL means the entire truck is booked for your goods alone -- no sharing space with other shippers. The truck picks up from your location and goes straight to the destination without stopping for other consignments. This is the only service TruckGuru offers. We do not handle part loads (PTL) or shared shipments. FTL means faster transit, fewer handling points, and lower risk of damage.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: a token amount at booking confirmation, 90% of the fare at the time of loading once the truck reaches your pickup location, and the remaining balance at the destination before unloading begins. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), and all major debit and credit cards.
What are the GST charges on freight?
GST on goods transport is payable under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) at 5%. This means the shipper (you) is responsible for filing and paying the GST on the transport service, not TruckGuru. Our invoices are GST-compliant and include all the details your accounts team needs for filing.
Who generates the e-Way Bill?
The consignor or consignee must generate Part A and Part B of the e-Way Bill before the goods move. This is mandatory under GST rules for consignments valued above Rs.50,000. TruckGuru does not generate the e-Way Bill on your behalf, but our team can guide you through the process if needed.
How will I receive my invoice and LR?
A GST-compliant invoice is auto-generated and sent to your registered email once the consignment is delivered. The LR (Lorry Receipt) is shared at the time of dispatch. If your accounts team needs a specific format or a consolidated monthly statement for multiple shipments, write to cs@truckguru.co.in.
What are the waiting charges?
If the truck reaches your location and loading is delayed, waiting charges range from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000 per day depending on the vehicle type. If the vehicle is not loaded at all and returns empty, the customer must pay the driver's fuel charges plus the applicable waiting charge. Keep your goods and paperwork (GST invoice, e-Way Bill, packing list) ready before the truck arrives to avoid delays.
Can I book a truck in advance?
Yes. We accept bookings with as little as one hour's notice, but booking 24-48 hours ahead gives us a better chance of matching the exact truck type you need -- especially for 32ft containers or during peak months like October to December. For businesses with regular shipments, we also arrange scheduled pickups on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Call 72020 45678 to request cancellation. Once vehicle or driver details have been shared with you, the booking amount is non-refundable. If the truck has already been dispatched toward your location, no refund is issued and the customer is liable for fuel charges. If the cancellation is accepted before dispatch, a cancellation fee applies and the refund is processed within 7 working days.
What types of goods can I transport?
We transport commercial and industrial goods -- machinery, raw materials, FMCG products, textiles, auto parts, building materials, electronics, and agriculture produce. We do not transport household shifting items, personal belongings for relocation, hazardous materials requiring special permits, or any restricted goods under Indian transport regulations.
Do you provide loading, unloading, or packing?
Our service covers transportation only. The quoted freight rate does not include labour charges. If you need help arranging loading or unloading labour, we can assist at extra cost, but we do not guarantee the availability or quality of third-party labour services.
Which cities does TruckGuru cover?
We operate across 110+ cities in India. Our strongest network covers Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Surat, Vadodara, Jaipur, Indore, and Kochi. For routes between smaller cities, call us -- if there is a road connecting the two points and the distance is intercity, we can usually arrange a truck within 24-48 hours.
Do you handle parcels, courier, bikes, or car transport?
No. TruckGuru provides full truckload (FTL) intercity goods transport only. We do not handle parcels, courier shipments, bike transport, car transport, household shifting (no 1BHK/2BHK/3BHK moves), or within-city local deliveries. If you need these services, we recommend contacting a specialist provider in your city.
What happens if my goods are damaged during transit?
Report any damage immediately upon delivery to our customer care team at 72020 45678 with photographs. We investigate each claim on a case-by-case basis. We strongly recommend that shippers arrange their own transit insurance for high-value consignments, as TruckGuru's liability is limited to the terms agreed at the time of booking.
How do I contact TruckGuru?
Call 72020 45678 or email booking@truckguru.co.in for booking queries. For credit facility or account-related questions, write to cs@truckguru.co.in. Our customer support team is available Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. TruckGuru does not share your contact details with any outside agencies -- only our in-house executives will reach out to you.
Tips for Booking a Truck
Match the truck to your load, not the other way around. Goods under 1.5 tons fit a Tata Ace or Bada Dost. Between 3.5 and 7 tons, an Eicher 14FT, 17FT, or 19FT is the right pick. Anything above 7 tons needs a 32FT container. Booking a truck larger than your load means paying for empty space you do not use.
Confirm the rate before dispatch, not after. On TruckGuru, the price shown at booking is the price you pay. The split is 5% at booking, 90% at loading, and 5% before unloading. If any transporter or broker tries to revise the number at the loading dock, that is not normal and you should not accept it.
Use GPS tracking instead of phone calls. Every truck on TruckGuru carries live GPS. Once the shipment moves, you can check its location from the app anytime. Share the tracking link with your buyer or warehouse team so they can plan unloading without calling the driver every few hours.
Book 2 to 3 days ahead during peak months. Same-day trucks are available on most routes year-round. But between October and December, festival demand and year-end dispatches tighten availability on busy corridors. Planning a few days ahead gives you better vehicle options, especially for goods that need closed-body or containerised transport.
Keep your documents digital from day one. TruckGuru generates your lorry receipt (LR), invoice, and proof of delivery (POD) through the platform. No chasing drivers for signed copies, no misplaced paperwork. Everything stays accessible in your account for compliance and accounting.
