Book Tata AceTyres are one of the most common loads we see going from Chennai to western Rajasthan. The Chennai region has some of India's biggest tyre plants, and dealers across Rajasthan's highway towns restock from there. Auto spares, two-wheeler parts and electrical goods make up much of the rest. The destination is a long way off: Jodhpur sits about 2,250 km from Chennai, at the edge of the Thar desert, and a full truck usually takes 4 - 5 days.

Which way the truck goes
Most trucks head north from Chennai through Nellore and Vijayawada to Hyderabad, then up NH-44 to Nagpur. From Nagpur they turn west to Indore, then north-west through Chittorgarh or Bhilwara and Ajmer to Jodhpur. The alternative, via Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, is a little longer but has more four-lane road. We choose based on the season and road conditions and tell you at booking.

Tyres from plants around Chennai and Sriperumbudur go to dealers in Jodhpur, Barmer and Pali. Auto spares and two-wheeler parts supply Rajasthan's service networks. Electrical goods, cables and pumps from Chennai's industrial estates go to contractors and farm equipment dealers.
Jodhpur is the commercial centre of western Rajasthan. Its wholesale markets supply Barmer, Jaisalmer, Pali and Nagaur, and the military and solar projects in the region add steady demand for equipment and spares.
Heat and the desert stretch
From April to June, western Rajasthan reaches 45 degrees and above. Tyres and rubber goods should travel in a closed container, away from direct sun, and drivers need to rest through the hottest hours. We plan long trips to cover the Rajasthan stretch in the early morning and evening.
Dust storms in May and June can cut visibility suddenly. If one is forecast, we may hold the truck for a few hours rather than push through.
Planning a 2,250 km trip
- Promise your consignee 5 days to be safe.
- Check the e-way bill will stay valid for the full trip, and extend it if the truck is delayed.
- Stack tyres upright and tie them in rows so they do not roll.
- For loads above 7 ton, a 32ft container is usually most economical per ton.

Return loads from Jodhpur
Jodhpur sends plenty back: handicraft furniture, guar gum, stone products and spices. Some furniture exporters ship through Chennai port, and guar and spices reach buyers across south India. That return traffic helps, but trucks willing to go all the way to western Rajasthan are still fewer than on the Delhi or Mumbai routes. Give us 2 days' notice for containers and a day for smaller trucks.

Common problems, and how we avoid them
The two border crossings that matter most are the Andhra-Telangana and Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan lines. A wrong vehicle number on the e-way bill holds the truck at either. Check it once more before dispatch. The other risk is weight: Rajasthan's highway weighbridges check heavy trucks, and overloaded ones are fined and held. We load only up to each truck's rated capacity.
Pickup and delivery areas
In Chennai we load at Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Ambattur, Guindy, Manali, Red Hills and the Gummidipoondi belt. In Jodhpur, common drops are Basni Phase 1 and 2, Boranada, the Heavy Industrial Area, and the wholesale markets in the city. Onward drops to Pali or Barmer can be added at booking.
Payment
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
