A load from Ludhiana to Chennai crosses six or seven states, three or four GST jurisdictions and more toll plazas than anyone wants to count. Booking the truck is the easy part. The trouble starts when the rate changes after loading, the e-way bill runs out halfway, or nobody can say where the truck is on day two.

What changes when the load crosses state lines
An interstate trip is not a longer version of a local one. Three things decide whether it arrives on time.
E-way bill validity. For normal cargo, an e-way bill is valid for one day per 200 km. Delhi to Bangalore, about 2,150 km, gets 11 days. A trip that loses two days at a border or a receiver's gate can run past it, and a truck caught with an expired bill is held until a new one is made. Driver rest. Beyond about 700 km, a driver stops at night. That is why Delhi to Mumbai, about 1,414 km, usually takes 2 - 3 days by truck, far longer than a car needs.
Trucks for the return trip. Some lanes have plenty of trucks every week, because drivers know they will get a load back. Others take longer to fill. Loads out of Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi are easy to cover most weeks. Loads into the North-East, Odisha or remote parts of Rajasthan need a day or two more to line up.

These are road times. Loading, checkpost stops and the wait at the receiver's gate come on top. From June to September, add a day to anything that runs through the Western Ghats or the Konkan.

Weight is only half of it. Cartons of foam, plastics or packed snacks fill a 32FT body at 4 or 5 ton, so choose by volume as well. On runs of two days or more, most shippers pick a closed container over an open body, since tarpaulins shift over 1,500 km of highway. Interstate truck rates
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. On interstate lanes, the direction matters as well: a truck heading somewhere it can reload quickly prices differently from one that will come back empty.

How the booking works
Enter the loading city and destination, cargo type and weight on truckguru.co.in or the TruckGuru app. Choose the truck, check the trip fare and pay the Booking Amount. Our team calls back within 30 minutes (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM) with the driver's name, vehicle number and phone number.
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
At loading you get a digital Lorry Receipt. GPS tracking runs from dispatch to delivery, which matters on a two-day trip when the receiver asks for an arrival time. Loading labour, unloading labour and transit insurance are arranged at your end.
Book at least two days ahead for runs over 1,000 km. From October to December, when festive stock moves on every major lane, make it three or four.

What we do not carry

How much is a 20ft container from Delhi to Mumbai?
A 20FT Container from Delhi to Mumbai, about 1,414 km, is indicatively Rs.39,300 - Rs.44,000 for the trip, toll included (checked September 2026). Rates are not fixed; confirm the current rate at booking.
How long does Delhi to Bangalore take by truck?
Usually 4 - 5 days for 2,150 km, as the driver rests at night, door to door with loading and unloading.
Who makes the e-way bill for an interstate load?
The consignor or consignee, for consignments above Rs.50,000. Make it after we share the vehicle number, since the bill must match the truck.
What if the e-way bill expires during the trip?
It can be extended on the portal within 8 hours before or after it expires. On long lanes, keep an eye on it from day two. Our team will tell you if the truck is running late.
Is toll extra on interstate trips?
No. Toll is included in the trip fare for the full route, across every state. There is no separate toll bill.
Can I book a part load to another state?
No. Every booking is a full truck for one consignment. If your load is small, a 14FT Eicher is usually the right size for an interstate run.
How far ahead should I book?
Two days for most interstate runs. Three or four days from October to December, and for loads into the North-East or Odisha.
