Book Tata AceTwo and a half ton of steel does not look like much
That is the first thing new customers in Peenya find out. A job-shop order of MS brackets, flanges or a couple of fabricated frames can hit 2 ton while taking up less than half the deck. A Tata Ace cannot take it, and a 14FT Eicher runs mostly empty. The Tata 407 sits in between at about 2.5 ton, and that is why it is one of the most asked-for vehicles out of the Peenya phases and the Jalahalli side.

Heavy, compact items like these need to be tied down properly. Ask your loading team to use wooden runners under anything that sits on a flat base, and to rope each piece to the body hooks. A 407 driver will help check the lashing, but the lifting and placing is done by your people or a hired crane. Loading labour is arranged by the customer.
Four lanes, four different trips
Peenya to Hassan, about 180 km. Around 4-5 hours. Plenty of small engineering and agri-equipment buyers there, and the road is good most of the way.
Peenya to Shivamogga, about 280 km. Roughly 7-8 hours. The last stretch after Tarikere is slower, so a morning dispatch reaches before the receiver closes.
Peenya to Chennai, about 350 km. Around 8-9 hours and an interstate trip, so the e-way bill has to be in place before the 407 leaves your gate. Deliveries into Ambattur or Sriperumbudur units usually go overnight and unload at 9 AM.
Peenya to Coimbatore, about 365 km. Around 9 hours via Hosur and Salem. Pump and motor parts move both ways on this lane, which keeps trucks available.
Times are driving time with normal stops. If the receiver has fixed unloading hours, tell us at booking and we plan the departure around it.
Getting the size right before the truck turns up
Weight is the number that matters here. Give us the real weight from your dispatch challan, not a guess. If a load ends up at 3 ton, the 407 is overloaded and the driver can refuse it at the gate, which costs you a day.

Tata 407 rates from Peenya
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Peenya to Chennai usually finds a vehicle quickly; Shivamogga and other smaller towns take longer to match because fewer trucks come back from there.

About 2.5 ton. Give us the actual weight from your challan so we do not send a vehicle that has to be swapped at your gate.
Can I book a 407 from Peenya to Tumakuru?
Tumakuru is under 100 km from Peenya, so it falls outside what we book. Our trips start at 100 km, for example Hassan, Chitradurga or further.
Do you give loading labour or a crane?
No. Loading and unloading labour is arranged by you. For a single heavy piece, most Peenya units hire a small hydra crane locally for the hour.
How soon will someone call after I book?
Within 30 minutes during working hours, Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM and Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM. The call confirms the vehicle and the pickup time.
What documents go with the load?
Your tax invoice or delivery challan, and an e-way bill if the goods are worth more than 50,000 rupees. We issue a digital Lorry Receipt at loading.
Who makes the e-way bill?
The consignor or consignee generates it. We need the vehicle number filled in, which we share once the 407 is assigned.
Is the 407 shared with another customer's goods?
No. One consignment per vehicle. We do not run part loads.
Can I track it on the way to Chennai?
Yes. Every trip is GPS tracked from dispatch to delivery, and the link works for your receiver too.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Is transit insurance included?
No. Transit insurance is arranged by the customer. For machined parts of high value, most shippers take a single-trip policy.
Will I get a GST invoice?
Yes, the GST invoice is issued after delivery.
Is the rate I see today fixed for next week?
No. Rates are not fixed and move with the lane and date. Check the live rate on the day you book.
