Vadodara's side of the trade
Vadodara has more industry around it than most people outside Gujarat realise. Makarpura GIDC and Por make electrical equipment, transformers and switchgear, valves and fabricated steel. Nandesari and the Padra side run chemical and petrochemical units. Savli, Waghodia and Manjusar have pharma and engineering plants, and Halol, a short drive away, has a car plant with its supplier base.
Pune buys much of that. Its auto belt in Chakan, Talegaon and Ranjangaon takes electrical parts, castings and moulded plastics; Bhosari's engineering units take steel and valves; pharma distributors across the city stock formulations made around Vadodara. Going the other way, Pune sends machinery, auto parts and electricals north.
Route, distance and transit
Trucks run south on NH48 through Bharuch, Surat and Vapi, enter Maharashtra and then turn inland towards Pune. About 560 km puts this lane in the 1-2 day transit band. A truck that loads in Vadodara before noon commonly reaches Pune the next day; a late-evening loading usually means arrival on the second day.
Two slow points are worth planning for. The ghat stretch into Pune is crawled at low speed by loaded containers, and the Bharuch and Surat stretches of NH48 can back up at peak times. Neither changes the transit band, but they change the arrival time within it.
One practical tip. Several Pune plants only accept trucks in set unloading windows. Get that window from your receiver before we dispatch, and we will time the departure to it rather than have the truck wait outside a gate overnight.

- 14FT Eicher, 3.5 ton: packed pharma and electrical goods.
- 17FT Eicher, 5 ton: valves, fittings and smaller fabricated items.
- 20FT container, 6.5 ton: switchgear and anything that must not get wet.
- 32FT container, 7-8 ton and up: bulk chemicals in drums or large plant dispatches.

Vadodara to Pune truck rates
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Vadodara has a large pool of trucks heading south, so outside the October to December rush this lane is usually easy to cover at short notice.

Paperwork across the border
Gujarat to Maharashtra is interstate, so the consignor or consignee must generate an e-way bill for goods above Rs.50,000 before the truck leaves. Chemicals classed hazardous also need their MSDS and labels; tell us at booking so the truck owner agrees in advance. Each trip comes with GPS tracking from dispatch to delivery, a digital Lorry Receipt at loading and a GST invoice after delivery. Labour at the Vadodara and Pune ends, and insurance for the cargo, are for you to arrange.

Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Do you book Pune to Vadodara as well?
Yes, as a separate trip from your Pune pickup, priced on its own.
Is toll charged separately?
