Panipat sits on NH-44, the old GT Road, about 90 km above Delhi. That distance matters to us more than most people expect. TruckGuru books intercity trips over 100 km, so a tempo from Panipat to a market in north Delhi is often just under the line and not something we can take. Go north instead, and every town up the highway is fair game: Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, and on to Jammu. That is where most of our tempo service in Panipat goes.

The vehicle is a Tata Ace or Bada Dost class tempo with driver, booked for your consignment alone.

What Panipat sends in small lots

Textiles are the obvious answer, and they make up the bulk of it: recycled yarn in bales, bedsheets, curtains, bath mats and made-ups in cartons. Two other trades show up in our bookings more than outsiders would guess. Pickle and spice makers in and around the city send cartons of jars to wholesalers in Punjab and Himachal. And the small engineering and fabrication shops that serve the industrial belt near the refinery send spares and fittings to sites up the highway.

Each of these packs differently. Yarn bales are bulky but light, and a tempo runs out of floor before it reaches its up to 1,100 kg rating. Pickle cartons are the opposite, dense and breakable, so they need to sit low and be tied down properly. Fittings are heavy and small. When you book, tell us which of the three your load looks like.

Destinations up and around the highway

Shimla needs a note. The last 90 km from Kalka climb all the way, and a fully loaded tempo is slow on that grade. We keep hill loads lighter than the rated capacity, and in the snow months from December to February some days the upper road is simply shut. Build a spare day into any Shimla delivery in winter.

Heading south into Gurugram, Faridabad or Noida is also possible, since those drops usually cross 100 km from Panipat. Check the distance when you enter the booking.

Bigger than a tempo

Blanket season from August onward brings bigger lots. When the order passes about a tonne, a 14FT Eicher (3.5 ton) or a 19FT Eicher (7 ton) makes more sense. For export cartons bound for a port, a container truck keeps the load sealed. The full range is on the truck type page, and the smaller Mini truck sits in the same class as a tempo.

Tempo rates from Panipat

Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. On NH-44, northbound tempos are easy to find most of the year; it gets harder from late October, when textile dispatches to Punjab and Jammu peak ahead of winter.

How a Panipat booking runs

Book online or through the TruckGuru app. We call back within 30 minutes in working hours (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM). The driver issues a digital Lorry Receipt at loading, the tempo is GPS tracked until delivery, and a GST invoice follows. Loading and unloading labour and transit insurance are arranged by you.

Can you do Panipat to Karol Bagh?

Probably not. We only take trips over 100 km, and central Delhi from Panipat usually falls just under that. Drops in south Delhi, Gurugram or Faridabad normally qualify.

Pickle jars are fragile. How do you handle them?

Pack them in strong cartons with dividers and load them low, heavy boxes at the bottom. The driver ties the load down, but the packing and loading are yours.

Is the tempo only for my goods?

Yes. One vehicle per consignment, no other stops.

How long to Jammu?

About 450 km, usually delivered within 1 day.

E-way bill for 60,000 rupees of bedsheets?

Yes, goods above 50,000 rupees need an e-way bill, generated by the consignor or consignee. It also has to be valid for the whole run, including the Punjab and J and K stretch.

My brother is moving to Chandigarh. Can I book a tempo for his things?

Our trucks mostly carry business loads. For a one-off household move to another city, we can supply the truck and driver. Packing, loading and unloading are arranged by you.

What are the payment terms?

Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.

Is the rate I got last month still valid?

Not necessarily. Rates are not fixed and move with season, route and vehicle availability. Check the live rate for your date.

Will the driver unload at the shop?

No. Unloading labour is arranged by you or your receiver. The driver waits while the goods come off and collects the signed receipt.
