Book Tata AceWhere a tempo makes more sense than a truck in Hyderabad
Begum Bazar and Osmangunj have lanes where a 19FT Eicher simply cannot reach the shop door. Traders there, and the distributors who supply towns across Telangana and Andhra, send a lot of cargo in lots under a ton: cartons of dry fruit, hardware, plastic goods, stationery. For that size of load going to Warangal, Karimnagar or Vijayawada, a tempo is the right vehicle. The industrial side of the city
Outside the old-city markets, most of our Hyderabad tempo bookings come from the north and west industrial belts. Jeedimetla and Patancheru have bulk drug and chemical units that send samples, lab supplies and small batches in sealed drums. Balanagar and Kukatpally have machine shops making components for pumps and defence suppliers. Cherlapally and Uppal, on the east side, send packaged food and plastic goods toward Warangal and Khammam.
Pharma lots need a closed-body tempo, which takes up to 1.5 ton. An open Ace (750 kg - 1,100 kg) with tarpaulin is fine for metal parts and sacks. If it rains, as it does heavily from July to September, we would pick the closed body for anything in cardboard.
Lanes and transit times
- Warangal: about 145 km, same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day
- Karimnagar: about 165 km, same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day
- Nizamabad: about 175 km, same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day
- Kurnool: about 215 km on NH44, usually 1 day
- Vijayawada: about 275 km, usually 1 day
- Guntur: about 270 km via Nalgonda, usually 1 day
A tempo on the Outer Ring Road can skip most of the city, so a Patancheru pickup for Vijayawada loses less time than you would expect. The slow part is usually the pickup itself. Old-city loading takes longer than factory loading because the goods come down from upper-floor godowns by hand. Budget an extra hour.
When to move up from a tempo
If the load crosses about 1.1 ton, a 14FT Eicher carries 3.5 ton and costs less per tonne. For 5 to 7 ton, a 17FT or 19FT Eicher. For dry, sealed cargo in larger volume, a 20FT or 32FT container. How booking works
Put pickup, drop, weight and date into the website or the TruckGuru app. We call back within 30 minutes during working hours to confirm. The tempo is GPS tracked from dispatch to delivery. A digital Lorry Receipt is issued at loading and the GST invoice follows delivery.
Loading and unloading labour, and transit insurance if you want it, are arranged by you. Hyderabad to Vijayawada or Kurnool crosses from Telangana into Andhra Pradesh; for goods worth more than 50,000 rupees, the consignor or consignee must generate the e-way bill before the tempo leaves.
Tempo rates in Hyderabad
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Around Sankranti in January, many drivers head home to Andhra villages and tempos for coastal lanes get scarce, so book those a few days early.

Can a tempo pick up from Begum Bazar?
Yes. A Tata Ace or Dost fits most Begum Bazar lanes. Tell us the exact lane and any timing restriction the market has, and plan your loading team for that slot.
How much weight does the tempo take?
An open Ace carries 750 kg - 1,100 kg. The closed-body version takes up to 1.5 ton.
Need a tempo from Jeedimetla to Warangal tomorrow morning. Possible?
Usually yes if you book today during working hours. Warangal is about 145 km, so a morning pickup delivers by early afternoon.
Do you deliver from Kukatpally to Gachibowli?
No. We only book intercity trips over 100 km.
Is the tempo covered?
Both open and closed-body tempos are available. Ask for closed body for pharma, cartons and anything that must stay dry.
Will you carry chemicals from Patancheru?
Packed, labelled non-hazardous chemicals in sealed drums, yes. Tell us exactly what the cargo is at booking so we assign the right vehicle and driver.
Do I need an e-way bill for Hyderabad to Vijayawada?
Yes, when the goods are worth more than 50,000 rupees. It is generated by the consignor or consignee.
Who loads the goods?
You arrange loading and unloading labour at both ends. The driver helps with ropes and tarpaulin.
Can I take my house items to Vizag in a tempo?
Our trucks mostly carry business loads. For a one-off household move to another city, we can supply the truck and driver. Packing, loading and unloading are arranged by you.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Is the tempo price fixed?
No. Rates are not fixed; they change with route, vehicle, cargo, date and availability. The price quoted at booking includes toll.
