Hire a Truck in Mundra for Intercity Freight
Mundra is not a typical freight city -- it is the port city. Mundra Port handles over 150 million tonnes of cargo annually, making it one of India's largest commercial ports. The MPSEZ (Mundra Port Special Economic Zone) is the largest SEZ in India by area, with manufacturing units covering chemicals, fertilisers, engineering goods, and FMCG. The intercity freight demand that comes out of this industrial cluster is significant and consistent.
TruckGuru books intercity FTL trucks from Mundra for B2B cargo -- manufacturing goods from MPSEZ units moving to Ahmedabad distributors, spare parts heading to Rajkot's engineering market, chemicals and industrial goods dispatching to Surat or Mumbai. Not local Mundra delivery -- intercity commercial freight only.

Trucks Available for Booking from Mundra
- Tata Ace (750 kg): Small batches, samples, spare parts, and light commercial goods from MPSEZ export units.
- Bada Dost (1.5 T): Same rate as Tata Ace, double the capacity. Handles most small intercity loads from Mundra SEZ without oversizing.
- 14ft Eicher (3.5 T): Mid-size commercial dispatches, packaged goods, engineering components.
- 20ft Truck (6.5 T): Larger consignments from MPSEZ manufacturing units, bulk packaged goods.
- 32ft Container (up to 16 T): Heavy industrial cargo, full truckload chemical or fertiliser dispatches from the SEZ.
Match your cargo weight to the right category using the truck size guide.
Common Intercity Corridors from Mundra
Most intercity freight from Mundra routes toward Gujarat's major cities or further into Maharashtra and Rajasthan:
- Mundra to Ahmedabad -- approx. 400 km, 6 to 7 hours. Gujarat's commercial capital and the primary distribution hub for MPSEZ output.
- Mundra to Rajkot -- approx. 310 km, 5 to 6 hours. Engineering and industrial goods to Rajkot's manufacturing and trading market.
- Mundra to Surat -- approx. 530 km, 8 to 9 hours. Chemicals and industrial goods to Gujarat's southern industrial belt.
- Mundra to Mumbai -- approx. 775 km, 11 to 13 hours. Major consumption and distribution destination for MPSEZ export-linked goods.
- Mundra to Jamnagar -- approx. 200 km, 3 to 4 hours. Petrochemical and industrial supply corridor within Gujarat.

What Moves Out of Mundra
The MPSEZ is not a single-industry zone -- it has chemicals, fertilisers, power equipment, engineering goods, FMCG manufacturing, and food processing units spread across a large estate. Fertiliser and chemical cargo from Mundra's chemical cluster moves toward Gujarat's agricultural belt and towards Rajasthan's consumption centres. Engineering components from MPSEZ units reach Ahmedabad's industrial buyers. FMCG manufactured in the SEZ moves outward to Maharashtra and Rajasthan distribution networks.
Beyond the SEZ, Mundra's proximity to the port means some cargo coming off container vessels at the port moves via road truck for inland delivery. This is port-side logistics -- cargo that has cleared customs and needs road transport to a Gujarati or Rajasthani distribution centre. TruckGuru handles the road FTL leg for such consignments.
For bulk or high-value cargo needing enclosed protection, see container truck transport.
Pickup Areas in Mundra
- MPSEZ (Mundra Port Special Economic Zone) -- largest SEZ in India, diverse manufacturing and processing units across chemicals, FMCG, engineering
- Mundra Port logistics zone -- port-side warehousing and cargo consolidation areas
- Adani Power Mundra plant area -- industrial supply chain addresses in the power sector belt
- Mundra town commercial area -- trading and general commercial dispatch
- Bhuj Road industrial corridor -- manufacturing units between Mundra and Bhuj
Why Right-Sizing Matters More at Mundra
Industrial cargo from chemical and fertiliser units tends to be denser than it looks. A consignment that appears to be a 5-tonne load by pallet count sometimes weighs 7 tonnes when measured. The 20ft truck at 6.5T and the 32ft container at 16T are the relevant categories for most Mundra industrial dispatches. Weigh first, book second -- oversizing on this corridor is less wasteful than discovering a weight violation at a Gujarat weighbridge en route to Ahmedabad.
Check the truck type guide if you are unsure which category fits your cargo weight and dimensions.
How Booking Works
Enter your MPSEZ or Mundra pickup address and the delivery city on TruckGuru.co.in or the app. Select the truck size, see the confirmed rate, and commit. Driver name, vehicle number, and transporter contact are confirmed before the truck dispatches. Your e-way bill documentation can be prepared with those accurate details before the truck moves.
Book via online truck booking. Track via the TruckGuru mobile app from Mundra through to delivery.
FAQ
Does TruckGuru offer local transport within Mundra or between Mundra and Gandhidham?
No. TruckGuru books intercity FTL for routes above 100 km. Mundra to Gandhidham is about 45 km -- below the threshold. For Mundra to Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, or further, TruckGuru is the right fit.
Can TruckGuru handle cargo that has come off a container vessel at Mundra Port?
TruckGuru handles the road FTL leg -- from the port-side pickup address to the inland delivery city. Port clearance, customs, and the container yard handover are outside TruckGuru's scope. Once the cargo is released and ready for road dispatch, TruckGuru can move it.
What are truck rates from Mundra to Ahmedabad?
Mundra to Ahmedabad is approximately 400 km. Indicative rates: Tata Ace/Bada Dost at Rs. 13,000-15,500, 14ft Eicher at Rs. 15,500-18,100, 32ft container at Rs. 36,000-40,200. Confirmed rate shown before booking on the freight calculator.
Is insurance included in a TruckGuru booking?
No. Cargo insurance is arranged separately by the shipper. It is not part of the booking rate. Arrange cover before the truck dispatches from Mundra.
What documentation is required for MPSEZ cargo moving out by road?
An e-way bill for consignments above Rs. 50,000. For cargo originating in the SEZ, confirm with your freight or compliance team whether any SEZ exit documentation applies in addition to the standard e-way bill. TruckGuru confirms vehicle and transporter details before dispatch so the e-way bill can be generated with accurate information.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is TruckGuru?
TruckGuru LLP is a full truckload (FTL) intercity truck booking platform with offices in Vadodara and Bangalore, covering 110+ cities across India. We show you the freight cost before you book, match the right truck to your cargo, and handle the booking from pickup to delivery.
How do I book a truck?
Three ways: book online at truckguru.co.in, use the TruckGuru app, or call 72020 45678. Enter your pickup and drop city, select the truck type, and check the estimated fare. Once you confirm, pay the token amount and our team places the vehicle at your pickup location.
How can I check the freight cost for my route?
Use the freight calculator on our website -- enter the pickup city, drop city, and truck type. You will see an estimated fare instantly. No login needed, no obligation. The final rate is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact locations, material weight, and goods type.
What truck types are available?
Tata Ace (1,250 kg), Bada Dost and Mahindra Pickup (up to 1.5 ton), Eicher 14ft (3.5 ton), 17ft (5 ton), 19ft (7 ton), 20ft Container (6.5 ton), and 32ft Container in SXL (7-8 ton), MXL (16 ton), and MXL (18 ton) variants. Not sure which fits your load? Call us and our team will recommend the right vehicle based on weight and volume.
What are the payment terms?
A token amount at booking confirmation, 90% of the fare at the time of loading, and the remaining balance at the destination before unloading. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), and all major debit and credit cards.
Is the online estimate the final fare?
No. The website shows an estimated cost based on standard distance. The final fare is confirmed by our executive after verifying your exact pickup and drop location, material weight, and goods type. On most routes the final rate stays close to the estimate, but it can vary for off-highway locations or routes requiring detours.
What are the waiting charges?
If the truck reaches your location and loading is delayed, waiting charges range from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000 per day depending on the vehicle type. If the vehicle is not loaded and returns empty, the customer must pay driver fuel charges plus the waiting charge.
What are the GST charges on freight?
GST on goods transport is payable under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) at 5%. The shipper is responsible for filing and paying the GST, not TruckGuru. Our invoices are GST-compliant and sent to your registered email after delivery.
Who generates the e-Way Bill?
The consignor or consignee must generate Part A and Part B of the e-Way Bill before the goods move. This is mandatory for consignments valued above Rs.50,000. TruckGuru does not generate the e-Way Bill on your behalf.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Call 72020 45678 to request cancellation. Once vehicle or driver details have been shared, the booking amount is non-refundable. If the truck has already been dispatched, no refund is issued and fuel charges apply. Approved cancellations are refunded (minus cancellation fee) within 7 working days.
Do you provide loading, unloading, or packing?
Our service covers transportation only. If you need labour for loading or unloading, we can help arrange it at extra cost, but we do not guarantee third-party labour services. The quoted freight rate does not include labour charges.
Do you handle parcels, courier, or car transport?
No. TruckGuru provides full truckload (FTL) intercity goods transport only. We do not handle parcels, courier, bike transport, car transport, household shifting, or within-city local deliveries.
Tips for Booking a Truck
Start with the weight and type of goods you need to move, not the truck size. A 2-ton consignment fits an Eicher 14FT (3.5T capacity), while anything above 7 tons usually needs a 32FT container. Picking the right vehicle upfront saves you from paying for space you do not use.
Always get a confirmed rate before the truck is dispatched. On TruckGuru, the price shown at booking is the price you pay. The payment split is 5% at booking, 90% at loading, and 5% before unloading. If any platform or broker tries to revise the rate at the loading dock, treat that as a red flag.
Check that the transporter provides live GPS tracking and digital documentation including LR, invoice, and POD. Calling the driver every few hours for location updates wastes time, especially on high-volume corridors where even a small delay can throw off your warehouse unloading schedule.
Book 2 to 3 days ahead when possible. Same-day availability is common on most routes, but during October to December peak season, trucks on busy corridors fill up fast. Advance booking also gives you better vehicle options for goods that need closed-body or containerised transport.
