Book Tata AceChakan runs on auto parts, and a 407 is often the right size
The Chakan MIDC belt north of Pune is built around vehicle plants and the vendors who feed them: castings, forgings, sheet-metal pressings, wiring harnesses, rubber parts, plastic trims. A lot of that moves in lots of two tonnes or so, which is too much for a pickup and not enough to fill an Eicher. That is where a Tata 407 on rent in Chakan makes sense. - Bhiwandi and Navi Mumbai, about 150 km. Spares and aftermarket stock to distribution warehouses. 4-5 hours, depending on the ghat.
- Kolhapur, about 270 km. Foundry and machining work goes out to Kolhapur shops and comes back finished. 6-7 hours.
- Bangalore and Hosur, about 870 km. Longer runs for parts going to plants in the south. Plan on delivery the second day, since the driver rests at night.
The slow part of any Chakan trip is getting out of Chakan. The chowk where the Talegaon road crosses the Pune-Nashik highway jams at shift change, around 7 AM and again in the late afternoon. We try to place the 407 at your gate before the morning shift or after 7 PM. It saves an hour more often than not.
When a 407 is not the right truck
A 407 has a shorter deck than an Eicher, so long items like bumper beams, exhaust pipes or bundled tubes can run out of floor before they run out of weight. For loads like that, or anything past 2.5 ton, book a 14FT Eicher (3.5 ton) or a 19FT Eicher (7 ton). Full-plant transfers and export-packed pallets go in a 32FT container. We do not take deliveries within Pune or inside the MIDC itself. Every booking is over 100 km.
Paperwork at plant gates
Most OEM stores in Chakan will not let a truck in without the invoice, the e-way bill and the vehicle number sent in advance, and some want a delivery slot. Tell us the receiving plant's gate rules at booking and we pass the vehicle and driver details as soon as the 407 is assigned. The consignor or consignee generates the e-way bill for goods over 50,000 rupees. You get a digital Lorry Receipt at loading, GPS tracking until the unloading point, and a GST invoice after delivery. Loading labour and transit insurance are arranged by you.
Tata 407 rates from Chakan
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Around month-end, when every vendor in Chakan is pushing dispatches to plants, smaller trucks get booked out early; place a 407 request two days ahead in the last week of the month.

How much can a 407 take?
About 2.5 ton. If the weight is close to that, tell us the real figure; a load that ends up at 3 ton needs a 14FT Eicher, not an overloaded 407.
Can the 407 go straight from Chakan to a plant in Nashik?
Yes. It is a dedicated vehicle for your consignment and goes direct from your gate to the receiving plant, about 180 km.
Can the 407 reach our gate by 6 AM?
Early pickups are possible if you book the day before. Share the gate timing on the callback and we plan the placement around it.
Do you do trips from Chakan to Pune city or Pimpri?
No. Those are under 100 km. We only book intercity trips.
Is a closed 407 available for painted or finished parts?
Ask for a covered body at booking. For finished parts that cannot take any moisture in the monsoon, a 20FT container is the safer choice.
Who handles loading at our factory?
Your team or your contractor. Loading and unloading labour is arranged by the customer. The driver ties down and tarps the load.
Our customer needs the vehicle number before dispatch. Can you share it?
Yes. Vehicle number and driver phone are shared once the 407 is assigned, usually well before it reaches your gate.
Can you track the truck on the Bangalore run?
Yes. GPS tracking runs from dispatch to delivery, so you can see where the 407 is on the road through Satara and Belagavi.
Is there a fixed rate for Chakan to Aurangabad?
No. Rates are not fixed and change with date, load and truck supply on that lane. You get the trip price, toll included, when you book.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
We have a return load from Aurangabad. Can the same 407 bring it?
