Vashi's APMC complex trades grain, pulses, spices, dry fruits and sugar in volumes that suit every size of truck. The smaller wholesalers in Kolhapur, Satara or Belagavi rarely buy a full trailer at a time. Their orders come in lots of 40 to 50 bags, about two tonnes, and a Tata 407 on rent in Navi Mumbai matches that exactly. Bagged goods, the monsoon, and the tarpaulin
Rice, dal and sugar in jute or woven bags handle a 400 km road trip well, as long as they stay dry. Most 407s run with an open body and a tarpaulin. From June to September we check that the driver has a good tarp and ropes before he reaches the market gate, and we suggest the shipper lays a plastic sheet on the deck first. Spices and dry fruits that are worth far more per kilo are a different case; a closed container truck is worth the extra for them.
We do not book refrigerated trucks. Fresh fruit and vegetables from the APMC side need a reefer, which is outside what we offer.
The industrial side: TTC MIDC
North of Vashi, the TTC MIDC belt from Turbhe to Rabale and Mahape has chemical, pharma, plastics and electronics units. Their 407 loads look different: drums, pallets of moulded parts, boxed components. Declare chemicals at booking so we place a vehicle whose owner accepts them. For loads over 2.5 ton from these units, Eicher trucks in 14FT (3.5 ton) and 19FT (7 ton) are the next steps.
Lanes and time on the road
- Pune, about 120 km. Same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day; longer if the truck takes the old road.
- Satara, about 230 km. Usually within 1 day.
- Kolhapur, about 370 km. Usually within 1 day; a dispatch after evening market closing reaches by morning.
- Belagavi, about 470 km. Usually within 1 day.
- Nashik, about 180 km. Same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day, depending on Kasara ghat.
- Surat, about 290 km. Usually within 1 day.
APMC gates get crowded in the morning trading hours. Our advice is to load after the market slows down in the afternoon; the 407 then clears Sion-Panvel Highway before the evening rush.
Tata 407 rates from Navi Mumbai
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. After the harvest, when APMC arrivals are heavy, trucks going south towards Kolhapur fill up quickly.

Booking steps
Share the pickup yard or unit, destination, weight, number of bags or pallets, and date. Book on the website or app; we call back within 30 minutes during working hours (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM). You get a digital Lorry Receipt at loading, GPS tracking to delivery and a GST invoice after it. Hamali at the APMC and at the destination is arranged by you, as is transit insurance. How many 50 kg bags fit in a 407?
About 50 bags reach the 2.5 ton limit. Do not ask the driver to take more; overloaded trucks get fined on the highway.
Can the 407 load at APMC Vashi in the afternoon?
Yes, and it is usually the better time. Tell us the market gate and your shop number on the callback.
Do you carry vegetables or fruit?
No refrigerated trucks. Dry goods like grain, pulses, spices, sugar and dry fruits are fine.
Who arranges hamali?
You do. Loading and unloading labour is arranged by the customer at both ends.
Is an e-way bill needed for grain?
Some agricultural produce is exempt from e-way bill rules while other goods are not. Check with your accountant; when one is required for goods over 50,000 rupees, the consignor or consignee generates it.
How long to Kolhapur?
About 370 km, usually within 1 day by truck.
Can I book Vashi to Kalyan?
No. That is under 100 km. We only book intercity trips.
Is the rate the same every week?
No. Rates are not fixed and change with the season, date and truck availability. You get the trip price with toll included at booking.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Can I track the 407?
Yes, GPS tracking runs from dispatch to delivery.
Can a 407 bring stock back from Belagavi?
Book it as a separate trip. If timing suits, we try to plan it with the same vehicle.
