TruckGuru's tempo service in Chandigarh books a Tata Ace or Dost (750 kg - 1,100 kg) or a Bada Dost (up to 1.5 ton) with driver, for intercity loads over 100 km. Rates are not fixed: quoted per trip, toll included. Ludhiana can be same day if loaded early; Delhi and Jammu take about 1 day.
A lot of tricity trade is a supply line to Delhi. A garment shop in Sector 22 restocks from Gandhi Nagar, an electrical dealer in the Industrial Area buys from Bhagirath Palace, and a Mohali startup sends its product back to a Delhi fulfilment point. At about 250 km, Delhi is a comfortable one-day tempo trip. Book it both ways. A tempo that goes down to Delhi with your returns can often be lined up to come back with stock, as a second booking.
We treat Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur as one origin. The loads differ by pocket:
Some towns people expect us to cover are too close. Ambala is about 45 km and Patiala about 70 km, both under our 100 km minimum, and we do not book deliveries inside the tricity either.
| Destination | Road distance | Tempo transit |
| Ludhiana | about 105 km | Same day possible if loaded early, otherwise 1 day |
| Shimla | about 115 km | Same day possible if loaded early, otherwise 1 day |
| Dehradun | about 170 km | Same day possible if loaded early, otherwise 1 day |
| Amritsar | about 230 km | 1 day |
| Delhi | about 250 km | 1 day |
| Jammu | about 340 km | 1 day |
Distance tells only part of the story on the hill runs. Shimla is barely more than 100 km, but after Parwanoo it is a climb with narrow bends, and a loaded Ace moves slowly. For Shimla, Solan or Kasauli we would load at dawn, keep the tempo well under its limit, and ask the receiver whether the drop point allows a vehicle to stand while it unloads. In January and February, check the weather the day before; snow on the upper road can hold a tempo at Shoghi for hours.
The Jammu lane crosses into a separate union territory, so the invoice and e-way bill have to be right before the tempo leaves. A mismatch found at Lakhanpur costs a day.
Pharma and medical supplies from Baddi and Mohali make up a steady share: cartons that are light for their volume and need a closed body. Tricity distributors of FMCG, tyres, lubricants and electrical goods send small lots to dealers in Punjab and Himachal. Mohali electronics units ship finished boards and instruments to Delhi and Noida customers. After the wheat and paddy seasons, tractor and farm-equipment spares move towards Punjab towns in small, urgent lots.
Anything over about 1.1 ton should go in a 14FT Eicher (3.5 ton). A 19FT Eicher takes 7 ton, and full plant dispatches go in a 32FT container. See the truck size guide for body lengths.
Truck freight rates are not fixed. What a load costs depends on the route, vehicle type, load capacity needed, cargo, pickup date and how many trucks are running that lane that week. Delhi-bound tempos are usually easy to find; a tempo up to Shimla or Jammu, where the driver may come back empty, is priced with that in mind.
TruckGuru pricing is quoted per trip at the time of booking, with toll included.
| Route | Distance | Ace / Dost / Pickup (750 kg - 1,100 kg) |
| Chandigarh to Amritsar | about 230 km | Rs.6,000 - Rs.6,700 |
| Chandigarh to Delhi | about 250 km | Rs.6,500 - Rs.7,300 |
| Chandigarh to Jammu | about 340 km | Rs.8,800 - Rs.9,900 |
Indicative fares, checked September 2026. Freight rates move with route, vehicle type, cargo, date and availability. Confirm the current rate at booking.
Current freight rates depend on route, vehicle type, cargo and availability. Check the live rate when booking.
Book on the website or the TruckGuru app with pickup, drop, weight and date. We call back within 30 minutes in working hours (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM). The tempo is GPS tracked from dispatch to delivery. A digital Lorry Receipt is issued at loading and the GST invoice after delivery. You arrange loading and unloading labour and any transit insurance. For goods above Rs.50,000, the consignor or consignee generates the e-way bill.
For a bigger vehicle to Delhi, see hire truck in Delhi. More on vehicle types is on the tempo service page.
Yes, that is a normal booking. Delhi is about 250 km, so a tempo loading in the afternoon is usually delivered the next day. Tell us if the Delhi drop is in a market with goods-vehicle timings.
No. We book only intercity trips over 100 km. Chandigarh to Mohali, Panchkula or Zirakpur is not covered, and neither are Ambala or Patiala.
A Tata Ace or Dost carries 750 kg - 1,100 kg. A Bada Dost class vehicle takes up to 1.5 ton. On hill routes, keep it lighter than that.
Yes. It is about 115 km, and an early loading can deliver the same day. Confirm the unloading point first, because many Shimla lanes do not let a vehicle stop.
Our trucks mostly carry business loads. For a one-off household move to another city, we can supply the truck and driver. Packing, loading and unloading are arranged by you.
No. Rates are not fixed. They move with the date, vehicle and demand, and the trip price with toll included is given at booking.
Yes, ask for a closed-body vehicle. Share the invoice value so the e-way bill is ready, and keep the batch paperwork with the driver.
No. We do full vehicle bookings only, one consignment per tempo.
You do, with your own labour at both ends. The driver secures the load with rope and tarpaulin.
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Tell us before the tempo is dispatched and we move you to a 14FT Eicher (3.5 ton). Changing at the gate usually loses a day.

Live tracking
Once your shipment moves, its position updates live on the map. Share the tracking link with your buyer or warehouse so unloading is planned before the truck arrives.
“We ship auto components from our Pune plant to distributors in eight states. Earlier every dispatch meant three or four calls to brokers just to get a rate. Now we check the fare online, confirm the truck, and track it on GPS till delivery. Our team saves close to two hours on every booking.”
“Our textile unit in Surat moves fifteen to twenty truckloads a month to retailers across South India. TruckGuru gave us one dashboard to book, one number to call, and the GST invoice reaches us the same day. Rates are competitive with no surprise charges at delivery, and that consistency matters when you ship every week.”
“We run a packaging materials unit in Ahmedabad and dispatch to factories across Maharashtra and Rajasthan. What sold us on TruckGuru was the rate transparency. The price we saw online was the price we paid, with no broker markup and nothing added at the weighbridge. Fourteen months in and we have not had a single billing dispute.”
“I handle procurement for a pharma distributor in Hyderabad and our cargo needs careful handling. TruckGuru gives us a coordinator who checks that every truck is clean and covered before loading. The digital LR and POD reach my inbox before the driver leaves the drop point, which saves us a lot during audits.”

We cover the full range of FTL intercity loads:
Not sure which one fits? Tell us the weight and type of goods, our team will recommend the right truck.
FTL means the entire truck carries only your goods. It picks up from your location and goes directly to the destination, no stops to consolidate other shipments, no detours. This is the right choice when you have enough volume to fill, or mostly fill, a truck, or when transit time matters.
Yes. Every truck on our platform carries GPS. Once your shipment moves, you can see its exact location from the app, no need to call the driver every few hours. You can also share the tracking link with your buyer or warehouse team so they know when to expect the delivery and can plan unloading accordingly.
Yes. Select your dispatch date when placing the booking and we will arrange the truck for that day. Advance booking helps during peak seasons, October through December, when festival demand and year-end dispatches tighten truck availability.
Yes. If you need to collect goods from more than one location or deliver to multiple destinations in a single trip, mention the stops when placing your booking. Our team will plan the route and confirm the fare covering all points before dispatch.
You can cancel before vehicle and driver details are shared, no charge applies. Once we assign a truck and share the details, the booking amount is non-refundable because the driver has already committed time and fuel.
Our truck fare covers transportation only. Loading, unloading, and packing are arranged separately at your end. If you need help finding labour at a specific location, reach out to our team, we can usually connect you with someone in the area who handles it regularly.
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading, Balance due before unloading begins. We accept NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments are accepted.
Yes. Toll charges are included in the quoted freight rate on all intercity routes. You will not receive a separate toll bill after delivery. The rate confirmed at booking covers the full point-to-point movement.
We transport commercial and industrial goods including machinery, raw materials, FMCG products, textiles, auto parts, building materials, electronics, and agricultural produce. We do not transport household belongings for relocation, hazardous materials requiring special permits, or any restricted goods under Indian transport regulations.
A GST-compliant invoice is generated and sent to your registered email once the consignment is delivered. The Lorry Receipt (LR) is shared at the time of dispatch. Proof of Delivery (POD) is sent digitally after unloading is complete. If your accounts team needs a specific format or a consolidated monthly statement for multiple shipments, write to cs@truckguru.co.in.
The first 2 hours after the truck arrives at your location are free. After that, waiting charges range from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000 per day depending on the vehicle type. Keep your goods and paperwork, including GST invoice, e-Way Bill, and packing list, ready before the truck arrives to avoid delays.
GST on goods transport applies under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) at 5%. This means the shipper is responsible for filing and paying the GST on the transport service, not TruckGuru. Our invoices are GST-compliant and include all the details your accounts team needs for filing.
The consignor or consignee must generate Part A and Part B of the e-Way Bill before goods move. This is mandatory under GST rules for consignments valued above Rs.50,000. TruckGuru does not generate the e-Way Bill on your behalf, but our team can guide you through the process if needed.
Report any damage at the time of delivery to our team at +91-7202045678 with photographs taken before unloading. We investigate each claim on a case-by-case basis. We strongly recommend that shippers arrange their own transit insurance for high-value consignments, as TruckGuru's liability is limited to the terms agreed at the time of booking.
No. TruckGuru provides full truckload (FTL) intercity goods transport only. We do not handle parcels, courier shipments, bike transport, car transport, household shifting, or within-city local deliveries. If you need these services, we recommend contacting a specialist provider in your city.
Call +91-7202045678 or email cs@truckguru.co.in. Our customer support team is available Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and Sunday 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. For booking queries, you can also use the website or the TruckGuru app on the Play Store. TruckGuru does not share your contact details with any outside agencies.
Start with the weight and dimensions of your goods, not the truck size. A 2-ton textile shipment from Surat to Mumbai fits comfortably in an Eicher 14FT (3.5T capacity, Rs.31-35/km). Picking the wrong truck size is the most common reason shippers overpay on freight.
Get your rate confirmed before the truck is dispatched. On TruckGuru, the price you see at booking is the price you pay. The split is simple: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading, Balance due before unloading. If a platform or broker revises the rate at the loading dock, that is a red flag.
Check whether the transporter provides live GPS tracking and digital documentation including LR, invoice, and POD. Chasing a driver by phone for location updates wastes hours every trip. On busy corridors like Ahmedabad-Mumbai or Delhi-Jaipur, a single delayed update can throw off your warehouse unloading schedule.
Book 2-3 days ahead when possible. Same-day availability is common on most routes, but during October-December peak season, trucks on high-demand corridors fill up fast. Advance booking also gives you better vehicle options for goods that need closed-body or containerised transport.
