Book Tata AceTimber, plywood and trade goods: the tempo side of Gandhidham
Kandla has handled imported timber for decades, and around it Gandhidham built one of Gujarat's larger timber and plywood trades: sawmills, veneer units, door and frame makers, and the hardware dealers who supply them. Add the wholesale market along the main road, the salt and chemical works towards Kandla creek, and the manufacturing belt stretching to Anjar and Bhachau. The heavy material leaves on trailers. What goes in a tempo is the smaller stuff: finished door frames for a dealer in Palanpur, a few bundles of veneer for a furniture unit in Ahmedabad, hardware and adhesives for a retailer in Rajkot.

Three things to check before you book
1. Length, not only weight
Door frames and plywood sheets are long. An Ace-class deck is roughly 7-8 feet, so standard 8x4 sheets sit flat but frames can overhang. 2. The weight
An Ace / Dost / Pickup carries 750 kg - 1,100 kg. Plywood is heavier than it looks: 30-35 sheets of 18 mm board can reach that limit. The closed-body variant goes up to 1.5 ton.
3. Cover
Veneer and laminated board mark easily and do not like dust. Ask for a closed body, or at minimum a clean tarpaulin tied at every corner.

Palanpur and north Gujarat go via Radhanpur across the edge of the Rann. It is a quiet road with few fuel and repair points, so our drivers top up before leaving Kutch. In summer, a midday start on that stretch is hard on both vehicle and driver; we prefer dawn departures.

We call back within 30 minutes in working hours to confirm the vehicle and pickup time. At loading you get a digital Lorry Receipt; the tempo is GPS tracked to delivery, and the GST invoice follows. Booking works the same on the TruckGuru app.
You arrange loading and unloading labour, and transit insurance if you want it. For goods worth more than Rs.50,000, the consignor or consignee generates the e-way bill. Timber dealers should keep any forest-produce transit papers their goods need with the driver as well.

Will the tempo be shared with another load?
No. One vehicle per consignment.

Your receiver arranges unloading labour. The driver does not unload.

Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
Can I follow the tempo on the road?
Yes. GPS tracking runs from dispatch to delivery and is visible in the app.
