Thane is one city on the map and three different starting points for a tempo. A load in Wagle Estate or Kopri leaves cleanly towards Nashik. A load off Ghodbunder Road is better placed for Gujarat. A pickup in Kalwa or along the Thane-Belapur road is already pointing at Panvel and Pune. When someone books a tempo service in Thane with us, the first thing our team works out is which exit the vehicle will use, because on a bad day the wrong one costs two hours before the trip has really started.
All of these are intercity bookings, over 100 km. Local drops inside Thane or Mumbai are not something we do.
North-east: Mumbai-Nashik highway
Out past Majiwada and Bhiwandi bypass, over the Kasara ghat, into Nashik. About 165 km; by tempo, same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day. This lane carries a steady mix: FMCG cartons for Nashik distributors, pharma packing material, electrical goods for dealers in Malegaon and Dhule further up. The ghat is the one variable. Lorries break down on the climb more often than you would think, and in July and August the fog and rain slow everything.
North: Ghodbunder to the Gujarat highway
Ghodbunder Road joins NH48 near Kashimira. From there Vapi is about 150 km and Surat about 265 km. This is the busiest tempo lane from Thane for textiles, garments, plastic goods and spares. Ghodbunder in the evening is slow enough that we suggest loading either before noon or after 8 PM. A tempo leaving at 9 PM is usually in Surat before the markets open.
South-east: Kalwa and Shil Phata to Pune
For Pune, Satara and Kolhapur, the tempo goes out through Shil Phata towards Panvel and then takes the old NH48 via Khopoli, because goods tempos do not use the Expressway. Thane to Pune is about 150 km; same-day delivery possible if the truck loads early; otherwise next day. Loads here are often engineering spares, chemicals in small drums and packed food from the units along the Thane-Belapur side.
What a tempo takes, and when to size up
An Ace / Dost / Pickup carries up to 1,100 kg. A closed-body Bada Dost takes up to 1.5 ton. Past that, a 14FT Eicher with 3.5 ton capacity is almost always the better buy. A tempo loaded to 1.4 ton is not a saving if it is stopped at the Kasara check. Compare the options on the truck type page.

Enter pickup, drop, weight and date on the website or the TruckGuru app. Our team calls back within 30 minutes during working hours (Mon-Sat 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Sun 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM) to fix the vehicle and slot. The tempo carries your consignment only. You get a digital Lorry Receipt at loading, GPS tracking to delivery and a GST invoice afterwards.

Surat. Kolshet is near Ghodbunder, which gets you to the Gujarat highway quickly. Pune means crossing Thane to Shil Phata first, which adds time in traffic.

Is the Kasara ghat a problem in monsoon?
It is slow. In heavy rain add one to two hours to the Nashik run, and ask for a closed-body tempo if the cargo is cartons or paper.

Can you drop goods from Wagle Estate to Mulund?
No. We only book intercity trips over 100 km.
Who does loading?
You arrange loading and unloading labour at both ends. The driver ties and covers the load.
Will my load go alone?
Yes. One vehicle per consignment, direct to your receiver.
What are the payment terms?
Payment is split into three parts: Booking Amount at booking confirmation, 90% at loading once the truck reaches the pickup location, and the remaining Balance at delivery before unloading begins. Accepted: NEFT, IMPS, UPI (PhonePe, GPay), and major debit and credit cards. No cash payments accepted.
My brother is moving to Nashik. Can he use a tempo?
Our trucks mostly carry business loads. For a one-off household move to another city, we can supply the truck and driver. Packing, loading and unloading are arranged by you.
How soon can I get a tempo?
For Nashik and Surat, usually the next day if you book during working hours. Ahmedabad and festival-week bookings need two or three days.
